WHY LEVEL GROUND?

LEARN WHY WE’RE SO MOTIVATED TO MAKE CHANGE IN OUR COMMUNITY

We are a non-profit organization that grants young individuals access to essential skills that enhance employability. These skills encompass graphic design, marketing, sales, public and media relations, spreadsheet use for budgeting and event management, and media proficiency through our partnerships.

Our Story

Just as birds thrive in an “atmosphere” and aquatic life thrives in a hydrosphere, humans flourish in a sociosphere with ready-made, established “norms” exclusive to the environmental encasement we call society—a society layered in rules, laws, and governmental regulations that also houses the building blocks forming the fundamental sociocybernetics of societal alienation.

Anyone acting outside of or failing to function properly within the established order faces alienation, shame, and, ultimately, environmental containment.

Thus, there exists within our social structure a system that manufactures its own contradictions.

Our school system and other institutions of learning arrogantly testify as qualified witnesses to these man-made contradictions.

Case in point: A child with lower-than-average grades in any class is quickly perceived as having a “learning disability” and is seen as unable to keep up with the well-established social norms. Here, almost instantly, the conditioning begins.

Lil Bobby can’t keep up and needs to be placed in a “different” learning environment with “other” children of a similar pace. These “others” ultimately become accustomed to their designation and are certain to face environmental containment, stuck in a perpetual cycle of otherness.

Here at Level Ground Vocational Training, we take those who are facing social strangulation or are well on their way to attaining the designation of “other” and reintroduce them back into our well-ordered society, armed with a marketable vocation.

One of the proving grounds used to create a level field in our current social dynamic is the introduction to financial literacy. This is perhaps the most important feature we can offer our children in today’s technocratic society. We understand that financial literacy actually determines your place in society.

A Social Commentary

Social Conditioning

What if we shifted our juvenile and criminal justice systems towards providing educational and vocational alternatives for first-time, non-violent offenders?

By highlighting the importance of allowing individuals the opportunity to develop their skills and talents as an alternative to incarceration, we underscore a crucial approach.

This concept promotes collaboration between our courts, schools, and community programs to offer at-risk youth constructive paths forward. It also delves into the broader implications of social conditioning and the significance of self-love in overcoming negative emotions.

Our approach is aimed at reducing the societal costs associated with crime and offering a more compassionate method of addressing non-violent offenses.

“Not every child has an equal talent, ability, or motivation, but they should have the equal right to develop their talent, ability, and motivation, to make something of themselves.”

As an advocate for reform in our juvenile and criminal justice systems, it is crucial to seek new, innovative methods and alternatives to incarcerating individuals for non-violent offenses.

By supporting common-sense legislative bills, such as “educational incentive credit laws” for incarcerated, first-time, non-violent offenders, we make it easier for them to participate in state-offered social programs specifically tailored towards learning a vocation in a specialized field.

In line with these objectives, it is imperative that Level Ground develops a working relationship with both juvenile and adult courts to offer an alternative to incarceration for first-time “non-violent” offenders before they are processed into the juvenile detention and criminal justice systems.

We encourage the juvenile and criminal courts to engage the public school system in using vocational training (vocational work-study programs) as another alternative to school expulsion and for those likely to drop out of our educational centers altogether.

By working with these salvageable, at-risk youth, we can lessen the burden on society due to the tremendous cost of crime and incarceration.

“Fear, jealousy, and anger are manifestations of a lack of being in love. Being in love is possible only when you are in love with yourself first. Self-love is an inborn quality that has been corroded because of social conditioning. As a result, we forget that love is within us, or rather, we are the source of love.” ― Vishwas Chavan
